Come be a part of our mission!We are seeking either a Principal DevOps Engineer or a Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to join our talented team. This position is in Redondo Beach, CA, and offers both domestic and international travel opportunities.The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks. The software Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several mission operational software product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted SCI Customer.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and architect CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo to streamline software builds
• Oversee and optimize the administration of Atlassian tools, ensuring reliability and performance
• Design and implement automation solutions using Ansible for auto-deploy and configuration management.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Continuously evaluate and improve automation, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Define and implement software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
• Mentor junior DevOps EngineersThis requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.Basic Qualifications:Principal DevOps Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degreeSr. Principal DevOps Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 3 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree
  • Active Top Secret clearance with a periodic review done within the last 6 years at time of application, and the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
  • Extensive experience in CI/CD pipeline setup and automation for software builds
  • Strong expertise in Bamboo, Nexus, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, YAML, Perl or similar).
  • Experience working with Linux-based infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and bamboo specs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsPreferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
    • Familiarity with security best practices in DevOps
    • Experience in working with microservices architectures
    • Experience with developing software using agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban)
    • Experience setting up SonarQube or Fortify and integrating them into the build Pipeline.

    • Current SCI accessSalary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
