Job Description:
Position Overview Fire and Gas Detection Technologies, Inc. is
seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our Quality
Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for
inspecting incoming, in-process components, and final products,
ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory
requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect
incoming, in-process, and outgoing products and report results.
Maintain inspection records and documentation. Monitor and manage
vendor performance, rejection reports, and production
accountability. Work on a PC to update, save, and retrieve files.
Adhere to company's quality management system (QMS) and related
policies, procedures, and standards. Perform internal audits,
conduct Gemba walks, and generate reports for findings. Handle
nonconforming materials and initiate corrective actions. Operation
and maintenance of measuring test equipment. Draft and revise
standard operating procedures (SOPs). Run statistical studies to
evaluate quality performance. Approve product shipments after
inspection. Address customer quality concerns and assist in
providing solutions. Write and implement the organization's quality
standards and procedures. Assist in the development of new methods
for improving production techniques to ensure high quality outputs.
Utilize Excel and ERP systems for reporting and analytics. Other
duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required
Associate's degree required. 2-5 years of experience in ISO
9001-certified electronics production environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions and drawings. Must
have knowledge of proper handling of electronic components using
ESD procedures. Must be proficient with various gauges for
inspection and measuring. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and
able to provide regular reports. Computer literacy is essential and
a primary function of this role. Soldering of electronic
components, PCBA, and SMT experience is a plus. Proven working
knowledge of standard QA processes, inspections, documentation, and
criteria. Understanding proper escalation procedures and adherence
to policy and procedure. Strong attention to detail and
organizational skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge
of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems Understanding
of electronic components, assemblies, and production processes
Familiarity with inspection techniques (e.g., visual, mechanical,
functional) Proficiency in using measuring instruments (calipers,
micrometers, gauges, multimeters) Strong computer skills,
especially in Microsoft Excel and document management systems
Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to
identify and document quality issues with accuracy and detail
Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks with a high degree of
precision Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under
pressure Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
with production and engineering teams Ability to analyze trends and
recommend quality improvements Working Conditions Work generally
performed in a temperature-controlled warehouse/production
environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and electronic
equipment. Time may also be spent at a workstation doing reports,
data entry, and documentation. Additional Requirements Frequent
standing and use of hands for inspections. Frequent use of hands
and fingers to handle parts, operate instruments, or use computers.
Requires strong attention to visual detail. Lift up to 25 lbs
occasionally. Manufacturing/production facility environment. Wear
required PPE (ESD gear, smocks, safety glasses). Typically
Monday-Friday with occasional overtime. Special Requirements
