Job Description:

We are hiring a skilled and motivated Payroll Specialist for a well-known grocery store chain in Valencia, CA. The Payroll Specialist supports all aspects of payroll processing for store personnel pay and information record; ensuring team member records are accurate in every transaction that affects their personnel record. Assist the Payroll Supervisor with payroll tasks, projects, and payroll team support as needed. Temporary Project Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm Pay Rate: $22.00-$25.00/HR Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Process and verify full-cycle payroll weekly Maintain accurate payroll records and correct discrepancies Distribute payroll checks and direct deposit vouchers Process terminations, manual checks, and wage garnishments Handle payroll-related compliance (e.g., CA waiting time laws) Record team member transfers, benefit deductions, and personnel changes Prepare payroll reports (earnings, taxes, deductions) Resolve payroll issues and respond to team member inquiries Manage payroll aspects of 401K and NQP, including reconciliation Create new hire records in HRMS Respond to employment verification requests Support quarter-end, year-end, and audit tasks
